Caitlin Kramer Pawl: Home
Oboist Caitlin Kramer Pawl is a freelance performer and teacher in the Las Vegas area. She is available for private lessons on both oboe and English horn, as well as reedmaking sessions and chamber music coaching. In addition to this, she is also available to perform at weddings, church services, and social events.
Caitlin received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Oboe Performance from DePauw University in 2007, studying with Anna L. Mattix who is now solo English horn with the Buffalo Philharmonic. In 2009 she completed her Master of Music Degree in Oboe Performance from The San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she was the receipient of the Presidential Scholarship as well as the William Banovetz Scholarship.
A passionate teacher, Caitlin has worked with beginning through advanced students, sharing the joy of music. While a graduate student, Caitlin was the Oboe Instructor for The San Francisco Conservatory of Music "Conservatory in the Schools" program through which she was an oboe and chamber music instructor at Presidio Middle School where her students received superior ratings at festival competition. Currently the Clark County School District Oboe Paraprofessional, Caitlin works with middle school and high school oboists across the Las Vegas Valley and is a frequent clinician and judge for middle and high school honor band as well as solo and ensemble festival. Caitlin is delighted to teach oboe and English horn to the talented students at the Las Vegas Academy arts magnet school, and is also Adjunct Oboe Instructor at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah.
Currently, Caitlin plays oboe and English horn in many Las Vegas area ensembles including Opera Las Vegas, The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society, and Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian. In addition to these, Caitlin has also performed with The Las Vegas Philharmonic, The Nevada Pops, and The Nevada Chamber Symphony.
Caitlin has participated in masterclasses with Elaine Douvas, Linda Strommen, William Bennett, and Julie Ann Giacobassi.
Caitlin lives in Mesquite, Nevada with her husband Tyler, who is the Band Director at Hughes Middle School.
